Men’s fashion has really matured over the last few decades. Earlier, it was restricted to straight fits, boot cuts and dark shades. If there were any experiments to be made, it was meant only for women’s clothing. Designers for women’s clothing had the liberty to play not only with colors but also patterns and fabrics. This trend is now being borrowed into men’s fashions by upcoming designers like Simon Cobb who dare to go bold.

Simon Cobb – Personal Life

Simon Cobb is a 23-year old designer and entrepreneur based in Portsmouth, United Kingdom.

He was born in Portsmouth and spent majority of his childhood growing up on the South Coast of England in Portsmouth and Bournemouth prior to moving to the small working class town of Kings Lynn at 12 years old. At Kings Lynn, he met his long-term girlfriend Rebecca almost 9 years after he first moved there. Simon and Rebecca have son together named Arlo born on August 13th, 2013.

A die-hard fan of Kanye West both for his music and his fashion sense, Cobb has always harbored a passion for good clothing. In his teen years, he used to constantly receive compliments for his dressing style. This motivated him to turn his talent into a career. A true workaholic, he is passionate about music, films and travel in addition to fashion and design. He attributes his success to the love and support of his family and friends.

The Brand – Menswear Exchange

Menswear Exchange is a unisex Streetwear clothing lineup. The online business store specializes in Celebrity Fashion, Urban Streetwear and Independent brands. It is a relatively new brand; it was launched in October last year, but it has already gained its ground in the fashion and clothing industry. Simon has recently been named 1 of the top 50 fashion icons in the UK at just age 23. Menswear Exchange showcases a range of well-known clothing brands such as Ralph Lauren and Converse. The brand also supports and represents upcoming brands.

This business venture started on eBay by the name “Uniquemenswearstore”. Simon Cobb sold items from his Celebrity Fashion and other well-known brands for nearly 4 years. It was only after 4 years of repeated dealings with sellers and customers via eBay that Cobb decided to expand his business by setting up an online store and marketing his products from there.

The Stock Exchange Program

Simon Cobb and his brand Menswear Exchange is also known for the Stock Exchange Program. According to the 23-year old designer, the concept was inspired by his dealings on eBay. It is an exchange program for designer and collectible fashion. As per the program, customers can exchange old designer items for a good price. This exchange or part exchange enables fashionistas to buy their favorite labels at an affordable price. The system however, accepts only authentic designer clothing that is in good condition to be resold.
